Tigers track wins 3A North State

The Winona boys won the 3A North State track meet hosted by Winona and the girls finished fourth.

Coach Chris McRae said a key for the boys was the performance of Ahmad Robinson, second in the 200 and fourth in the 100 while running with a hamstring injury suffered two weeks earlier.

Lady Jags season comes to an end

J.Z. George competed in three events in the boys division of the Region 2-3A meet held Monday at Winona High School.

Senior Montavis Jenkins had the top finish with a third in the discus throw in 117-06. The 4x800 relay team of Malik Branch, Devontae Smith, Ceasa Glenn and Marquinn Watt was fourth in 9:39.

Winona boys win Region 2-3A track title

Winona boys finished first and the girls were second at the Region 2-3A track meet hosted by Winona Monday.

The boys had 103 points, nine more than runner-up Water Valley. In the girls competition, Yazoo County had 131 points and Winona 99.
