1. What is your circulation?

Our circulation is over 4,200, and reaches about 10,500 readers. This assumes the average reader rate of 2.5 based on studies by the National Newspaper Association. The Winona Times is delivered by the U.S. Postal Service and is also available in stores and news racks throughout the area.

 

2. How often do you publish?

Our newspaper is published on Thursday. 

 

3. What is your coverage area?

We cover all of Carroll and Montgomery counties.

 

4. How do I submit a news or sports item?

Submit news items to editor and publisher Amanda Sexton Ferguson at editor@winonatimes.com

Submit sports items to staff writer Tish Butts at tishbutts@winonatimes.com

When submitting photos for publication, please attach them in jpeg format at the highest possible resolution. Please identify everyone in the photos.

We actively seek engagement announcements, weddings, awards and achievements, school news, letters to the editor or anything relevant to our community.

We are a community newspaper, and we want to keep our readers informed about anything going on in Carroll or Montgomery counties or news about Carroll and Montgomery natives. Our staff writers also welcome news tips.

 

5. How do I place an ad in your newspaper?

Just call one of our advertising representatives at 662-283-1131 or send an email to advertising@winonatimes.com Tell us what you want and our production staff will quickly design an advertisement that fits your needs. There is no charge for ad design and composition.

 

6. What’s the cost to advertise?

The open rate is $11.25 per column inch. Color charges vary from $25 to $150.

7. How do I subscribe?

Just call 662-283-1131, e-mail bookkeeping@winonatimes.com or visit our office at 401 Summit Street in Winona.

Subscription rates in Carroll and Montgomery counties are $30 per year. For subscriptions outside of Carroll or Montgomery counties, the rate is $40 per year.

 

8. Does your publication include classified ads?

Yes, and our rates are very low. Contact us at 662-283-1131 or e-mail classifieds@winonatimes.com to place an ad.

 

9. What are your business hours?

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

10. Where is your newspaper printed?

Our pages are designed and composed by our staff in Winona before being electronically transferred to the printing press at the Greenwood Commonwealth in Greenwood, MS.

We then transport the papers back to Carroll and Montgomery counties for distribution.

 

11. What is the political affiliation of your publications?

Our editorial opinions are based on what we believe is right and not influenced by political affiliation. We also welcome opposing viewpoints. We believe that the exchange of different ideas and opinions is an essential part of our mission. Letters to the editor and guest columns are strongly encouraged.
