J.Z. George's 2019 season came to an end last week in a rather abrupt way as the Jaguars lost their final three Region 3-3A games and missed out on the playoffs.
The Jaguars, who closed with a 6-15 overall mark and a 3-7 record in region play, dropped a 10-0 decision to Charleston on April 16. The next day, J.Z. George forfeited to Humphreys County. They had lost to Amanda Elzy on April 12 to begin the slide.
Against Charleston, the Tigers scored three runs in the first inning, one in the second, two in the fourth and four in the fifth in collecting nine hits.
Michael Bankston (3-4) took the loss on the mound as he surrendered six runs on eight hits in 42/3 innings of work. He walked three and fanned five. Lance Mullen gave up four runs in relief.
Robbie Clunan, Jacob Johnson and Kendrick Head had a single each for the Jaguars.
