J.Z. George competed in three events in the boys division of the Region 2-3A meet held Monday at Winona High School.
Senior Montavis Jenkins had the top finish with a third in the discus throw in 117-06. The 4x800 relay team of Malik Branch, Devontae Smith, Ceasa Glenn and Marquinn Watt was fourth in 9:39.
Chris Rias placed seventh in the 3200 run in 14-04.
Jenkins and the relay team advanced to the North 3A meet, which will be held Saturday at Winona High School. The state meets are May 2-3 at Pearl High School.
Softball
The Lady Jaguars ' fast pitch softball team had their season come to an end Monday as they were swept by Mantachie High School in the first round of the State 3A playoffs.
Mantachie won the first game 29-0 and took the second contest 16-0.
J.Z. George finishes with an 8-11 overall record.
