Funeral services for Mr. R. W. Miller, of Vaiden, were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Vaiden Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Staszefski officiating. Burial followed in Michie Cemetery in Vaiden. Pallbearers were Jeramy Shirley, Mason Weeks, Kameron Miller, Jaden Miller, Johnny King, and Ethan Shirley. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Weeks, Richard Boone, Wyatt Boone, Jonathan Miller, and Jeremiah Petty.
Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 22, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.; and Monday, Feb. 23, from noon until service time at Vaiden Baptist Church.

George Oliver Hays, 95, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, at Country Meadow Personal Care Home in Greenwood. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, at the North MS Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Kilmichael with Rev. Dustin Long officiating. Visitation is Sunday March 1 from 4p.m. until 6 p.m. at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home.

Billy E. Dunn, Jr. born April 25, 1964, in East Prairie, Missouri, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose life was marked by faith, love, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Billy graduated from Mississippi State University, carrying with him the values of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance that would define his life. On July 28, 1990, he married Catherine Cooper Dunn. Together they built a strong and faithful marriage rooted in love, family, and their shared Catholic faith.

Patsy was born Sept. 24, 1926, to Clifford Bailey and Empress Campbell Bailey in Chicago, IL and departed this life Feb. 7, in Oxford.
Patsy moved to Tylertown at a young age and discovered a love for playing the piano and continued to study music at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. Her first job as a musician/pianist was in Holly Springs at First Baptist Church where she met her husband of 66 years, Aubrey Boone.

Samuel E. Mitchell Jr., age 76, passed away peacefully on Feb. 6. He was born in Birmingham, AL in 1949 to Samuel Earl Mitchell and Martha “Tot” Mitchell.

Bobby Wayne Mims passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, leaving a legacy of faith, service, and devotion to family.
Bob was born to Willie and Lois Mims on Feb. 25, 1948, in Coila. He graduated from Leflore County High School and Northeast Louisiana University.
In August of 1969, Bob married the love of his life, Sonna Jean Callens Mims, affectionately known as Babe. They were happily married for over 56 years.

Services for Ralph Redditt Phillips of Coila will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Coila.
Mr. Phillips, 63, died Friday, Jan. 30, at his sister's home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10:55 a.m. at the church.
The Rev. Howard E. Newton will officiate the services.
Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Coila.

James Anthony “Tony” Franks was born June 30, 1942, at his family’s home in the Frankstown community in Prentiss County, the second of three children born to Genelle Hill and James Marcus Franks. He passed from this life Jan. 24.
Tony was educated in the public-school systems of Wheeler and Baldwyn, graduating from Baldwyn High School in 1960. He attended Northeast Mississippi Junior College and Mississippi State College, and he graduated from Delta State College with a degree in music.

Janie Haining Shepherd-Wells, age 92, a resident of Waynesville, NC and Winona, passed away peacefully on Jan. 29 at her home. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and educator who lived life fully.
Born on Dec. 19, 1933, in Yazoo City, she was the daughter of the late Walton and Hazel Haining. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dacus Haining and her first husband, Bill Shepherd.

The committal service will be held in the chapel, immediately following the funeral service. The Rev. Bobby Palmertree officiated the services. Pallbearers were Marcus Ward, Ronnie Hambrick, William Wylie, and Richard Stoker.

Visitation was held on Friday, Jan. 30 from 10 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home.
Delia J. Mitchell, resident of Saltillo, died after an extended illness on Jan. 22, at the age of 69.

Robert Timothy “Tim” Laster died Jan. 21, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson after a brief battle with a vicious form of cancer. He was 59 years old.
A lifelong resident of Duck Hill, Tim was born in Winona on Sept. 29, 1966, to Robert Gary Laster and the former Marion McCuiston. He quickly became the “apple of the eyes” of his grandparents, Mungo and Lilly McCuiston and Harris and Frances Laster, of Duck Hill. The Laster’s got a bonus three days later when their granddaughter, Angela Kay, was born. Tim and Angie formed a special bond that was only broken by Tim’s passing.

Mr. Jerry Ronald Rosamond, 81, of Winona, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at his residence. He was born December 10, 1944, to George Mease Rosamond and Abby Inez Evans Rosamond.
Jerry retired after many years of dedicated service as a machine repairman with Packard-Delphi. A faithful member of Moore Memorial Methodist Church in Winona, he valued his church family and the fellowship it provided.

Sue Geotes, age 86, of Winona, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
Ola Sue was born on April 16, 1939, to Arnold and Inez May of Stewart. Sue graduated from Kilmichael High School and moved to Jackson to attend business college. Alongside her mother, she ran a home-based cake design business for over 20 years. In her 40's, she returned to college and obtained a nursing degree, eventually retiring from Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Although her favorite job was being "Big" to her grandchildren.
