Vaiden teen arrested in shooting

A Vaiden teen is out on a $50,000 bond, following an Aug. 15 shooting in Winona.
Malachi Jaquammy Ward, 15, was arrested by Winona police on Sept. 13 and charged with shooting into a dwelling, according to the Carroll Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility arrest docket.

GeneraXtion keeps on giving to area young people

Young people from Vaiden and throughout Carroll County will have another opportunity to receive items for school.
GeneraXtion will be giving away long-sleeved and short-sleeved t-shirts along with hoodies, beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the old Vaiden High School gymnasium, according to Lyndera Williams, founder of GeneraXtion.

Officials offer $5,000 reward in arson arrest

Carroll County first responders extinguished a blaze that had been set to a county bridge Monday morning.
Deputies and firemen were dispatched to a bridge fire on County Road 64 in the McCarley area behind Bailey Lake at around 7:20 a.m., according to statement released by Sheriff Clint Walker.
