Holiday Inn Express robbed

A Grenada man is in the Vaiden jail following a robbery at Holiday Inn Express in Winona.
Winona police responded to a 2:53 a.m. call on Sept. 24 to the hotel, according to a statement released by Winona Police Chief Roshaun Daniels.

Duck Hill Chief returns to duty

Duck Hill Police Chief Tyler Winter has returned to his duties after recovering from a broken leg.
Winter suffered his injury in a one-vehicle wreck, involving only his 2012 Ford F-150, on Carrollton Road in Grenada on April 29, he said.
“I was about a mile from home,” Winter said.

Noah, new Carroll County Purchasing Clerk

During their meeting on Monday in Carrollton, Carroll County Supervisors approved training for the county’s new purchasing clerk.
They hired Christy Noah, former deputy Circuit Clerk, into the position during a Sept. 11 meeting, and she began working on Sept. 13.
Supervisors approved her hiring with a 3-2 vote.

Officials offer reward in store break-in

Kilmichael police are looking for suspects in the recent burglary of Dollar General.
“They gained entry through the front door,” said Kilmichael Police Chief Barry Gregg.
He said a store employee reported the break-in at 5:58 a.m. on Sept. 19 after arriving and seeing the front door had been heavily damaged.
