Saturday, all roads lead to Vaiden as the town will have its second annual Spring Fling festival.
In 2021, under the administration of former mayor Mel Hawthorne, the board decided to have a Spring Fling because they weren’t able to have their annual Vaiden Heritage Festival in 2020 due to COVID.
Under the new administration of mayor Stella Washington-Bell, the board decided to continue to have the Spring festival because of the success of last year.
This year’s festival will be even bigger than last year’s. There will be live band, a car show, a hot air balloon, a petting zoo, horseback rides, bounce houses, mechanical bull ride, food and craft vendors and games for all ages.
The festival will be held in downtown Vaiden beginning at 11 a.m.
During their monthly meeting in Vaiden, Washington-Bell said the goal of the Vaiden Activities and Recreation Committee is to make the event bigger and better as it grows.
This event is sponsored by the Vaiden activities and recreation committee, Vaiden Farm Supply, Vaiden Timber Company, Majestic Kutz, Professional Image Barbershop, Smile-O’s, Tradewinds Weekly, Whitney’s Boutique, Vaiden Campground, I-55 Sales and Service, Sanders Repair, Guy’s Fish House, Guy’s Grocery, Mac’s Package and Vaiden Bank.
