As the weather begins to get cooler and leaves begin to fall, many people are looking forward to their fall and winter traditions of bon fires, warm soups, cozy fires and being with family.
In Kilmichael, there’s one tradition that will continue even with COVID-19 restrictions in place. The town of Kilmichael will hold its Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 5. The Kilmichael Board of Aldermen voted to allow the Christmas on the Square planning committee to hold the parade.
The Kilmichael parade is the same day as the Carrollton/North Carrollton parade, which will also be held this year. The Carrollton/North Carrollton Christmas Parade is set for 3 p.m. on December 5.
The City of Winona announced they will not hold their annual Christmas parade this year, nor will they allow the Harvest festival, organized by Blessing for All, Empowered by Faith, Inc., to be held for the third year. However, a drive-thru candy give-away, sponsored by the city, will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 31 in downtown Winona.
There has been no decision as of yet if Vaiden or Duck Hill will hold their parades or trunk or treats.
More information about both parades, along with times, will be published closer to time.
