Three employees who work in the Carroll County Tax Assessors Office in Carrollton and an employee that works in the Carroll County Chancery Clerk’s office have all tested positive for COVID-19.
Tuesday, the tax assessor’s office posted on its Facebook page: “Our office in Carrollton is going to be closed until June 29 due to an employee testing positive for Covid-19. Our Vaiden office will still be open and you can buy tags and pay taxes with them their number is 662-464-8852. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause!! Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. Please share this so people will be aware.”
The Chancery Clerk’s office closed early Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday and Friday. The office will be open next week and will be open from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., but it will not be open to the public. The office will operate on this schedule for the next two weeks.
Chancery Clerk Casey Carpenter said employees in his office, all of the employees in Tax Assessor Wilton Neal’s office, and employees at the sanitation office were all tested and they are awaiting the results from the tests.
Currently, Carroll County has a total of 122 cases since March 11.
