Absentee voting is underway for the Republican run-off against Thomas Carey and Brian Flowers who are vying for the Second Congressional District seat. Republicans in Montgomery and Carroll Counties will vote for who will run against Rep. Bennie Thompson in the general election.
The final day for absentee voting in Montgomery County is Saturday, June 20 until noon at the circuit clerk’s office at the Montgomery County Courthouse. Absentee ballots that have been mailed in must be received by 5 p.m. Monday, June 22.
Voting will take place next Tuesday, June 23, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. This election is only for Republicans who voted in the primary election or voters who did not cast a ballot in the primary election in March.
The run-off was scheduled originally in May but was pushed back due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
