There will be something for everyone along Highway 35 during Picking 35, a multi-county yard sale that runs 60-plus miles long beginning in Vaiden. The event is sponsored by the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce.
Picking 35 will be held on April 3, 2021, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kosciusko Main Street Director Leah Robinson said that this year it will begin in Vaiden and will go just past Walnut Grove, encompassing Carroll, Attala and Leake counties.
She said there’s an interactive map, created by Attala County’s local newspaper, the Star-Herald. Robinson said maps will be in the Star Herald next week, as well the Kosciusko Main Street office, located at 101 North Natchez Street.
Robinson said they’ve been holding Picking 35 for about four or five years, and people call to their office to set up. She said there are a lot of people who set up but don’t call.
“We have vendors that will allow people to set up in their parking lot as well,” she said.
In Vaiden, Whitney’s Boutique, Prissy Hen and Front Street Market will be set up as vendors. Robinson said the Prissy Hen parking lot will also play host to other vendors.
“I think she’s pretty full right now,” she said.
Robinson said in Carmack, vendors will be set up at the Carmack Community Center.
She said masks are not required but can be worn as a personal preference. Robinson said people will be able to locate vendors by looking for the hot pink “Picking 35” signs.
