The J.Z. George Jaguars concluded their 2017-2018 basketball season last Tuesday as both the boys and girls teams were eliminated by Yazoo County in the Region 3-3A tournament.

The Jaguars went down 58-25 to the Panthers, while the J.Z. George girls went down 56-13. The tournament was played in Greenwood.

Grassroots veterans group elects officers

Veterans Helping Veterans had their first meeting at North Carrollton City Hall on Tuesday afternoon.

At the February board meeting of the North Carrollton Mayor and Board of Alderman, it was approved for the Veterans to use the board room for their monthly meeting the second Tuesday of each month at 6 pm.

Montgomery County 4H had a stellar showing at this year’s Dixie National Rodeo.

According to Montgomery County Extension Agent Amy Ware, more than $50,000 came back to Montgomery County in Sale of Champions money and scholarships. Also a Kilmichael 4Her came home with the top prize for lambs.

This past week, a post was made public on Facebook about an alleged incident that occurred in downtown Winona. This was not reported to the police department, but was instead posted on Facebook.
