An Attala County man has been charged with second-degree murder and an enhanced charge for using a switch in connection with the death of a 19-year-old man in an act many are calling “senseless.”
Right before the clock struck 12 on New Year’s Day, Weir Police Chief Dillion Cates said Kentavious Merritt, 24, allegedly shot and killed Caden Yarbrough, 19, of Weir.
Merritt has been charged with second-degree murder and possession and/or use of a machine gun conversion device.
