The Winona High School girls’ and boys’ soccer teams had a busy week as they played three games each.
The Lady Tigers (3-6-1) went 1-2 in those games as they fell to Strayhorn High School 7-0 last Friday and dropped an 8-0 district decision to visiting St. Andrew’s last Thursday.
Winona was able to pull off an 8-0 triumph over Riverside High School on Jan. 9. Mary Beth Brannon had three goals, and Sofia Guzman tacked on two scores. Cristina Seals, Bella Durham and Anna Beth Walton had a goal each.
The Tigers didn’t fare well against Strayhorn and St. Andrew’s, falling 3-0 to Strayhorn and 7-0 to the Saints to fall to 4-6 overall and 2-2 in district.
The Tigers picked up their lone win against Riverside, a 7-3 decision. Winona, which led 3-2 at the half, got four goals from T.J. Small, and two from Kason Harper. Miles Bailey had one goal.
Winona, which played host to Yazoo County Tuesday, entertains Greenville Friday.
