On July 15, the Winona Police Department arrested 39-year-old Alaa Owda of Cordova, Tenn.,following a routine traffic stop on Hwy 51 near Jones Street. Owda was charged with felony false representation of prescription or legend drug, felony counterfeit goods selling, felony possession of controlled substances, misdemeanor sale of paraphernalia, and misdemeanor failure to signal.
During the arrest, the Winona Police Department seized $3,700 in United States currency, 3,000 dosage units of counterfeit prescription medication, 127,500 milligrams of synthetic marijuana, and a collective aggregated total of $31,370.00 in counterfeit goods.
Owda is currently being held at Carroll County Jail with a $225,000 bond.
