Bogue Creek Festival set for Sept. 9

Preparations for the annual Bogue Creek Festival are underway.
The annual day of family fun is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 9 at Lancaster Pecan Grove off Mississippi Highway 51 in Duck Hill, according to a flyer provided by Miranda Dean with the Red Hill Volunteer Fire Department.

Carroll receives Fed funding

Carroll County Supervisors recently accepted Federal money to fund repairs needed after a February 2020 flood.
According to Emergency Management Director Ken Strachan, the flood caused damage to roads, bridges and culverts throughout the county.

Property owner ordered to clean up

A new storage facility might be available in Winona in the near future.
The owner of the property across Mississippi Highway 51 from Home Hardware told the Board of Aldermen he plans to turn the 18-wheeler trailers into air conditioned storage units.

Body of Carroll County woman found

The body of a Carroll County woman was found near Jackson days after she was reported missing.
The body of Taminique Trixy Keys, who had been missing since Aug. 9, was discovered by a Flowood employee near the intersection of Interstates 20 and 55 on Monday, according to a statement released by Sheriff Clint Walker.
