The Winona Christian tennis team had a strong showing at the Class 4A North State tournament last week with four teams winning championships.
Winona Christian swept the doubles action, winning both girls doubles spots and boys doubles spots. The mixed doubles team finished runners-up while the boys No. 1.
• In girls No. 1 doubles, Bella Robert and Allie Rawles won the Class 4A North State Tournament and were scheduled to play in the Class 4A state tournament this week. Roberts and Rawles will try to defend their title as they play Laurel Christian in a 10 a.m. semifinal match on Wednesday. They will play the winner of Canton and Kirk Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
• In girls No. 2 doubles, Olivia Brooks and Lucy Oliver also won the North 4A Tournament and will play at 11 a.m. on Wednesday against Riverfield. They would play the winner of Tri-County and Indianola at 2 p.m.
• In boys No. 1 doubles, Reese Cooper and Deuce Mooneyham won the 4A North and will play Laurel Christian at 9 a.m. They would get the winner of Tri-County and Oak Hill.
• In boys No. 2 doubles, Jack Sorgen and Riley Harville also won the North 4A and will face Laurel Christian at 11:30 a.m. They would play the winner of Tri-County and Kirk at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday as well.
• In mixed doubles, Trager Yeoman and Piper Davis were runners-up in the 4A North State Tournament to Oak Hill. They will play South No. 1 Laurel Christian on Wednesday at noon.
• In boys singles, Eli Lewis was the runner-up at the 4A north State Tournament and will play Canton Academy’s Matt Thomas at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Winona Christian’s Bella Roberts continues her impressive senior year with another standout performance, this one in shot put and discus. Roberts won both events at the Class 4A North State track meet at Lee Academy and will advance to the state tournament.
• In the girls 3,200-meter run, Mackenzie Ingold was fifth with a time of 16:34.26.
• In the high jump, Swayze Marquedt was fifth with a jump of 4 feet, 4 inches.
• In the girls triple jump, Bella Roberts was second with a jump of 32 feet, 4.25 inches.
• In the girls shot put, Bella Roberts was first with a throw of 29 feet, 9 inches while Maddie Brennan was fourth with a throw of 26 feet, 4 inches.
• In the discus, Bella Roberts was first with a throw of 92 feet, 2.5 inches.
