Winona Christian’s baseball season came to a quick end last week as the Stars were swept in the first round of the Class AA playoffs.
The Stars lost 12-1 on Tuesday and then fell 11-1 on Wednesday to close out the series. Winona Christian finishes the season 12-9 record.

The Rebels took advantage of seven series and took an 11-run win over the Stars in the first game of the series on Tuesday.
Tri-County scored two in the first, three in the second and one in the fourth to go up 6-0. The Stars scored their lone run in the fifth before Tri-County answered with four runs in the sixth and two in the seventh.
Winona had just four hits with their long run coming from a solo home run from Colby Marlow. Reed Roberts, John White and Dalton Wiggins each singled for the Stars.
Latham Hill started on the mound for the Stars and pitched four innings, giving up six runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five. Cade Marlow and Deuce Irwin pitched 1 1/3 innings and each gave up three runs on two hits while John White got the last out.

The Rebels used a pair of four-run innings and took a five-inning, run-rule win over the Stars to complete the series sweep on Wednesday.
The Rebels scored four runs in the third and fifth innings with three in the fourth. Winona scored its only run in the fourth on a solo home run by Corley Goss.
Reed Roberts and John White each had singles. Blake Marlow got the start on the mound and pitched 3 innings, giving up six runs on five hits and four walks while striking out three. Cade Marlow pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on two hits and a walk while Deuce Irwin faced two batters.
