Winona Christian mowed through three opponents last week, winning by a combined total of 47-3.
The Stars swept the Jackson Victors, winning 13-0 and 16-1 and beat Grace Christian 18-2.
In the 13-0 win over the Victors, Choyce Diffey gave up one hit in four innings and struck out 11 batters. In the 16-1 win over the Victors, Latham Hill threw three no-hit inning and struck out six and Reed Roberts pitched the final inning without giving up a hit and struck out two.
In the 18-2 win over Grace Christian, John White pitched three innings and gave up one run on one hit and struck out four.
In the three games, John White had five hits with four doubles and five RBIs, Choyce Diffey had four hits with a double and drove in five runs. Reed Roberts had four hits, including two home runs as he drove in six runs and Latham Hill had six hits on the week with two double, a triple and six RBIs. Dalton Wiggins also collected five hits on the week and drove in three runs. Steele Mims and Conner Nail each had two hits and an RBI. Hayden Self also drove in three runs on the week.
The Stars were scheduled to return to play as they were to travel to Marshall on Monday and then host Grace Christian on Thursday. Marshall will then make the return trip to Winona on Friday to finish out the week.
During spring break, the Stars will travel to Vicksburg and play a trio of games as they will play Yazoo City on Monday at 1 p.m. and then play Riverside at 4:30 p.m. The Stars will finish out the week as they play East Rankin on Tuesday at noon. All games will be played at the Vicksburg Sports Complex.
The Stars will return from spring break and enter district play as they travel to Indianola on Tuesday, March 17 for a varsity doubleheader and then host the Colonels on Friday, March 20.
