Each of the Carroll Academy teams were able to pick up a win in district play this past week.
The Carroll Academy boys beat Central Holmes 43-39 but lost 66-39 to Marshall. The Lady Rebels beat Marshall 43-36 but lost 47-37 to Central Holmes.
The Rebels will return to action on Tuesday as they travel to West Point to take on Oak Hill. On Friday night, Carroll will host Marshall Academy for Senior Night in their only scheduled games this week.
Central Holmes girls 47, Carroll 37
The Lady Rebels were unable to slow down the red-hot Lady Trojans who took a 10-point district win.
Central Holmes jumped out to a 16-8 lead in the first period and led 27-17 at the half. The Lady Trojans were able to maintain that advantage in the second half to take the 10-point win.
Sandy Rhea Tackett led Carroll with 12 point and four steals. Bell Sanders had eight points while Katie Lauren Clark had five points.
Carroll Academy boys 43, Central Holmes 39
The Rebels were able to hold a slim lead throughout most of the contest as they took a four-point win over the Trojans.
After each team scored nine points in the first period, Carroll outscored Central Holmes 13-10 in the third to take a 22-19 lead at the half. Each team scored nine points in the third as Carroll led 31-28 going into the fourth.
Reese Fulton had another double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Austin Smith and Logan Taylor had 10 points apiece.
Carroll Academy girls 43, Marshall 36
The Lady Rebels used quick starts to each half to take a six-point win over the Lady Patriots in district play.
Carroll started quick and led 11-5 at the end of the first but held a slim 18-17 lead at the half. The Lady Rebels then outscored the Lady Patriots 12-4 in the third to take a 30-21 lead into the fourth. Marshall outscored Carroll 17-13 in the fourth to make it interesting.
Sandy Rhea Tackett led Carroll with 21 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Gracie Turner had a 16 points and nine rebounds as well.
Marshall boys 66, Carroll 39
The Patriots dominated from the beginning and took a 27-point win over the Rebels.
Marshall jumped out to a 19-5 lead at the end of the first and led 39-18 at the half. The Patriots were able to extend the lead in the third, outscoring the Rebels 19-9 to take a 58-27 lead into the fourth.
Reese Fulton had 15 points and 12 rebounds while Austin Smith had 10 points and Cooper Beck chipped in six points.
