The Carroll Academy Rebels grabbed a much-needed win over Calhoun Academy on Saturday after being swept by Oak Hill earlier in the week.
The Rebels lost both games to Oak Hill, losing 19-4 and 20-0. The Rebels followed that up with a 7-5 win over Calhoun Academy on Saturday.
The Rebels will take on Winona Christian this week in a two-game series. The Rebels will travel to Winona on Tuesday and host the Stars on Friday.
Carroll 7, Calhoun 5
The Rebels grabbed a much-needed win over Calhoun on Saturday.
The Rebels bounced back from an early 5-1 deficit and scored three runs in the fifth and sixth innings to take the win.
The Rebels had 13 hits in the contest, led by Lofton Holly who had three hits and two doubles. Gavin Wiltshire, Crawford Holly and Drew Thomas each had two hits including a double. Dane Greenlee had a pair of doubles while Logan Taylor had two singles.
Oak Hill 19, Carroll 4
The Raiders needed just three innings to take a run-rule win over the Rebels on Thursday.
Oak Hill scored five in the first, 13 in the second and one in the third. Carroll scored all four of its runs in the third inning.
The Rebels had four hits as Dane Greenlee doubled while James Neill, Brett Harper and Lofton Holly each had singles.
Oak Hill 20, Carroll 0
The Rebels struggled in the field and at the plate in a three-inning loss to the the Raiders on Tuesday.
The game was scoreless after two innings before Oak Hill scored 20 runs in the third.
Carroll didn’t have a hit and committed 13 errors while Oak Hill had only nine hits.
Dane Greenlee pitched the first 2.2 innings and gave up 10 runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four. Maddox Carpenter came in next but didn’t get an out and gave up six runs on one hit and three walks.
