The Rebels got a double-double from junior center Reese Fulton and took an overtime win over the Mavericks in their only action last week.
After each team scored seven in the first period, Manchester took a 26-24 lead at the half. The Mavericks outscored the Rebels 15-14 in the third to take a 41-38 lead in the fourth. The Rebels managed to send the game into overtime as they outscored the Mavericks 14-11 in the fourth. The Rebels then outscored the Mavericks 6-5 in the extra frame to take the win.
“The Manchester game was intense,” Coach Tommy Acy said. “It was a back and forth game until the very end. My team and I learned how important it is for us to stay out of foul trouble. Had a couple of players get quick fouls and we are a completely different team without them on the floor. I’m just glad we managed to come out on top.”
Fulton had another big night as he had 21 points and 19 rebounds. Logan Taylor and Austin Smith each had 10 points apiece while Brett Harper had nine points.
