The Winona softball team suffered three losses last week, falling to 3-6 with losses to East Webster 13-1, Kosciusko 14-0 and Bruce 5-4.
“We're making too many errors,” coach Steven Helms. “We have so many young players.”
Errors cost the Lady Tigers the Bruce game. Winona led 4-2 going to the bottom of the seventh when the first two Bruce batters reached on errors. “Then they had a little dink hit. We should have been out of the inning,” Helms said.
Instead, Bruce scored three unearned runs.
Jayda Johnston and Emilee Lowery had two hits each for Winona and Mycala Helms tripled.
