The Winona Christian Lady Stars have gotten off to a fast start on the season, much in part to a balanced scoring attack.
The Lady Stars have jumped out to a 7-0 record on the season while the Stars have just played one contest, falling to French Camp on Monday.
The Lady Stars have used a balanced scoring attack to jump out to the quick start.
“So far, we have had a more balanced scoring attack,” WCS girls coach Lee Hazlewood said. “We have had three or four scoring in double figures which is something we didn’t have last year. The last couple of years, we have lived by one scorer. We have defended well and ran the floor well. We have made some mistakes but overall I thought we have played well. When you can’t key on one player, it makes it tough on the defense and makes them defend the whole floor.”
After playing French Camp on Monday, Winona was scheduled to travel to Winston on Tuesday and host Kemper on Thursday before taking off for the Thanksgiving holidays. After that, they will host Hebron on Monday, Nov. 26 and Nanih Waiya on Tuesday, Nov. 27. They will travel to Tri-County on Thursday, Nov. 29
