The Winona Christian Lady Stars got in plenty of softball last week as they played six games, winning three of the six.
The Lady Stars will return to action this week when they travel to Oak Hill for a division contest with the Lady Raiders.
Benton 11,Winona Christian 9
Benton jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the first two innings and held off a furious rally by the Lady Stars to take the win on Monday.
After falling behind 8-1, Winona scored two in the fourth and sixth and four in the seventh but couldn’t garner the win.
The Lady Stars had 15 hits in the contest, led by Elise Diffey who was 4-for-5. Shelby Bowering was 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored. Olivia Dendy was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs while Jada Mims was 2-for-4. Madyson Leach and Kaylah Brooke Varnes each singles and scored two runs apiece.
Sara Rawles got the start and went the distance, giving up nine runs on 12 hits while striking out four and walking three.

Starkville 9
The Lady Stars used a pair of five-run innings to take a three-run win over Starkville on Tuesday.
Starkville scored three in the top of the third but Winona answered with five in the bottom of the frame and added five more in the fourth. Starkville cut the lead to 10-8 with three runs in the fifth. The Lady Volunteers made it 10-9 before Winona scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the win.
The Lady Stars had 12 hits in the contest, led by Jada Mims who was 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs scored and four RBIs. Shelby Bowering was 2-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored. Elise Diffey was 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored while Olivia Dendy had a double, drove in two runs and scored twice. McKinley Ingram, Madyson Leach and Haley Evans each had RBI singles for Winona.
Sara Rawles got the start and gave up nine earned runs on 17 hits and three walks while striking out three.

Heritage 8
Trailing 7-1, the Lady Stars scored 10 runs in the last two innings and took a three-run come-from-behind win over Class AAA Heritage.
The Lady Stars had 17 hits in the contest as Olivia Dendy led the way, going 4-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored. Haley Evans was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Shelby Bowering was 2-for-4 with two RBIs while Ashleigh Parkinson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Jada Mims had a double and drive in three runs while Elise Diffey and Harlee Whitten each had RBI singles for the Lady Stars.
Sara Rawles pitched all seven innings and gave up eight runs, only four earned, on 13 hits while striking out five and walking five.
Lee Academy 6,
Winona Christian 0
The Lady Stars were held to two hits as Lee Academy took a three-inning, time-limit win on Saturday at the Indianola Tournament.
Shelby Bowering and Haley Evans had Winona’s hits.
Sara Rawles got the start and pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up six runs on five hits and six walks.

Carroll Academy 0
Winona used a pair of seven-run inning to blank rival Carroll on Saturday at Indianola.
The Lady Stars had 16 hits as Jada Mims was 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Bella Roberts was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Ashleigh Parkinson was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs while Madyson Leach was also 2-for-3. Kaylah Brooke Varnes was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Shelby Bowering and Alana Garrett each had two runs scored.

The Lady Stars managed only two hits as Marshall took a four-inning shutout win on Saturday.
