The Winona Christian Lady Stars advanced to the North AA state tournament this week, despite not winning a game.
The Lady Stars were the No. 3 seed in the tournament and had an automatic bid into the tournament semifinals where they lost 36-32 to eventual tournament champion Central Holmes.
Then on Saturday, the Lady Stars lost a hard-fought 60-55 contest to Oak Hill to finish as the No. 4 seed.
The Lady Stars advance to the North AA Tournament at Marshall Academy this week. They will play Manchester at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lady Mavericks are the No. 1 seed out of District 2-AA.
Carroll Academy girls 36,

Playing for the third time this season, the Lady Rebels took a tight four-point win in the tournament semifinals on Thursday.
Carroll led most of the first half as they outscored Winona 8-7 in the first and 13-9 in the second for a 21-16 halftime lead. After outscoring Winona 5-4 in the third to extend the lead to 26-20, the Lady Stars took the fourth period 12-10 for the final margin.
Bella Roberts led Winona with 13 points while Elise Diffey had nine points. Sara Burden White and Jada Mims each had six points apiece.
Oak Hill girls 60,

Oak Hill used a big fourth quarter to come from behind to beat the Lady Stars on Saturday.
The Lady Stars led the majority of the contest as they outscored Oak Hill 16-10 in the first and 13-11 in the second to lead 27-23 at the half. The Lady Stars extended the lead in the third, outscoring the Lady Raiders 12-9 to lead 39-32. The Lady Raiders then outscored the Lady Stars 28-16 in the fourth to take the win.
Bella Roberts had a season high 25 points for the Lady Stars while Sara White had 13 points and Elise Diffey added 12 points.
Central Holmes boys 49,

The Stars’ season came to an end on Tuesday as Central Holmes took a five-point win in the opening round of the District 1-AA Tournament at Marshall Academy.
Each team scored 10 points in the first period but Central Holmes used a 19-9 advantage in the second to lead 29-19 at the half. Winona mounted a comeback in the second half as they outscored Central Holmes 9-6 in the third and 16-14 in the fourth but the Trojans held on for the win.
Latham Hill led Winona Christian with 16 points while Reed Roberts had 14 points and Choyce Diffey added 10 points.
