The Lady Stars scored in every inning as they hammered Oak Hill to take a division win on Tuesday.
Winona Christian scored four in the first, three in the second and two in the third to go up 9-1 after three innings. The Lady Stars kept pouring it on as they scored four in the fourth and sixth innings and three in the fifth.
The Lady Stars had 16 hits in the contest as Madyson Leach had a big day, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored and two RBIs. Olivia Dendy was 3-for-5 with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs while Harlee Whitten was 3-for-3 with two doubles, three runs scored and two RBIs.
Elise Diffey was 2-for-4 with a double and five RBIs while Jada Mims was 2-for-3 with three walks and two runs scored. Shelber Bowering only had one hit but drove in four runs while Ashleigh Parkinson drew three walks and scored four times.
Sara Rawles got the start and pitched 4 2/3 innings and gave up nine runs on nine hits and 10 walks while striking out two. Allie Rawles pitched the final 1 1/3 inning and didn’t give up a run. Winona will return to action this week as they were to host Oak Hill on Monday and Magnolia Heights on Tuesday. They will play in the Tri-County Tournament on Saturday at Hinds Community College.
