The J.Z. George softball team is 0-5 following two losses against Choctaw County and one against Charleston. “The girls improve with each game, but we still have a lot of work,” said coach Jamie Tucker.
The Lady Jaguars lost the first Choctaw County game 24-0. “We couldn't seem to hit the ball and had several fielding errors,” Tucker said.
Olivia Carpenter had the only hit for J.Z. George in a 33-2 loss to Choctaw County. Carpenter and Zamya Fleming scored the team's runs.
In a 20-4 loss to Charleston, Carpenter scored twice and Makayla Vest had two run-producing singles that scored Christyana Seals and Laney Clunan.
J.Z. George played Ruleville Central Tuesday, will be at Amanda Elzy Thursday and are scheduled to play Cleveland Central and Shannon Saturday in a tournament at Charleston.
