The J.Z. George baseball team is slated to open its 2019 campaign Thursday at 4 p.m. against Greenville High School in North Carrollton.
The Jaguars were rained out last week in their tilt with Riverside, and last Saturday's doubleheader with Greenville was also postponed because of the weather.
The Jags and Hornets will play a single game today.
J.Z. George is entered in the Winona High Tournament, which will be held Saturday. The Jaguars start Region 3-3A play Tuesday at Yazoo County at 4 p.m.
The Lady Jaguars fast-pitch softball team had three games rained out last week. They opened their season Tuesday at home against Holmes County Central.
The Lady Jags return to the diamond Friday with a home contest against Riverside High School, and they entertain Winona High School next Tuesday.
