Five members of the J.Z George boys track team qualified for the State 3A meet Friday as they finished in the top four at the North State meet last Saturday at Winona High School.
Senior Montavis Jenkins was second in the discus in 121 feet, 11 inches, while the 4x800 relay team of Malik Branch, Devonte Smith, Ceasa Glenn and Marquinn Watt was fourth in 9:25.
The MHSAA State Championships for all six classifications will be held at Pearl High School this weekend. Classes 1A, 3A, and 5A will be on Friday with Classes 2A, 4A, and 6A set for Saturday.
