The Winona Christian School Stars have their football schedule set for the upcoming school year.
The Stars will participate in District 2-AAA with Benton, Carroll, Central Holmes and Indianola and will play three of those contests in the first five games of the season.
Winona will open the year at French Camp, a team that beat the Stars 45-18 last year to open the season.
In week two, Coach Junior Graham will host Winston Academy, a team they beat 26-15 in last year’s regular season finale.
In week three, the Stars will travel to Central Holmes where they will open division play with the rival Trojans. Last year, the Stars took a 20-12 win over the Trojans in a contest that propelled the Stars to the district championship.
Following the Central Homes contest, the Stars will travel to Benton on Sept. 13. The Raiders were 0-10 last year.
Then on Sept. 20, the Stars will have another big district contest as they host Indianola. The Colonels beat the Stars 35-6 last year.
On Sept. 27, the Stars will go out of district as they travel to Newton County Academy and take on the Generals who finished 2-9 last year and lost in the first-round of the playoffs to Sylva Bay.
The Stars will open October as they host rival Carroll on Oct. 4 to round out district play. Last year, the Stars beat the Rebels 34-21 to wrap up the district championship.
The Stars will then finish out the regular season with three straight non-district contests. The first of those contests is an Oct. 11 home contest with Kirk Academy.
On Oct. 18, the Stars will travel to Marshall Academy, a team the Stars beat 32-14 last year.
The Stars will close the regular season on Oct. 25 as they host Oak Hill for senior night. The Stars beat the Raiders 36-10 last year.
