The Carroll Academy boys picked up three big wins on the hardwood this past week.
The Rebels hammered Benton 79-39 and then grabbed a pair of division wins as they beat Winona Christian 71-35 and Central Holmes 42-37.
The Lady Rebels won two out of three contests as they beat Benton 34-25 and Winona Christian 44-39. The finished the week off with a tough 47-42 loss to Central Holmes.
Carroll is off until Dec. 28 when it participates in the Manchester Tournament.
Carroll boys 79, Benton 39
The Rebels jumped out to a big lead in the first period and cruised to a 40-point win over the Raiders.
The Rebels jumped out to a 24-5 lead in the first and led 38-22 at the half. The Rebels continued to pour it on in the third, outscoring Benton 28-12 to take a 66-34 lead.
Reese Fulton continued his strong play as he had 20 points and 10 rebounds while Logan Taylor added 16 points. Austin Smith had 12 points while Brett Harper had 11 points.
Carroll girls 34, Benton 25
The Lady Rebels trailed for most of the contest before pulling away in the fourth period to take the win.
Benton led 9-6 at the end of the first and 18-14 at the half. Benton extended the lead to 23-16 in the third before Carroll outscored the Lady Raiders 18-2 in the fourth to take the win.
Sandi Rhea Tackett had 11 points, seven rebounds and four steals to lead the Lady Rebels while Gracie Turner had 11 points. Belle Sanders had eight points and five steals while Katie Lauren Clark added six points.
Carroll boys 71, Winona 35
The Rebels got another double-double from Reese Fulton and used a balanced scoring attack to double up rival Winona on Tuesday.
Carroll led 17-12 at the end of the first and then outscored Winona 11-3 in the second to lead 28-15 at the half. The Rebels then outscored the Stars 19-9 in the third to take a 47-24 lead into the fourth.
Reese Fulton led Carroll with 18 points and 17 rebounds while Logan Taylor had 16 points and Austin Smith added 15 points. Brett Harper also had 13 points for the Rebels.
Reed Roberts led Winona with 18 points while Latham Hill had 16 points and Zack Bailey added 12 points.
Carroll girls 44, Winona Christian 39
The Lady Rebels used a big fourth period to take a five-point win over the Lady Stars to open division play.
Each team scored seven points in the first period and Winona used a 14-10 advantage in the second to lead 21-17 at the half. The Lady Stars used a 7-6 advantage in the third to extend the lead to 28-23. But the Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Stars 21-11 in the fourth to take the win.
Sandi Rhea Tackett led the Lady Stars with 20 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Gracie Turner had seven points and 12 rebounds while Lanie Claire Dunn had six points and four steals.
Carroll boys 42, Central Holmes 37
The Rebels trailed most of the first half but took the lead in the third and held on for the five-point win over the Trojans on Friday to move to 2-0 in district play.
The Trojans led 11-7 at the end of the first and 18-16 at the half. The Rebels then outscored Central Holmes 14-10 in the third to take a 30-28 lead into the fourth. The Rebels used a 12-9 advantage in the fourth to take the win.
Reese Fulton had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Rebels while Logan Taylor had 12 points. Austin Smith added eight points.
Central Holmes girls 47, Carroll 42
Central Holmes build a big lead and Carroll mounted a late comeback but fell short as the Lady Trojans took a five-point win.
Central Holmes led 12-8 at the end of the first and 21-16 at the half. The Lady Trojans extended that lead to 37-24 at the end of the third. Carroll outscored Central Holmes 18-10 in the fourth but fell short in the comeback.
Gracie Turner led Carroll with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Sandi Rhea Tackett had eight points. Belle Sanders had eight points, six rebounds and five steals in the contest.
