Each Carroll Academy basketball team picked up a win last week with a sweep of Tri-County Academy.
Both teams also lost doubleheaders to Canton Academy and Manchester Academy last week.
Carroll will host Benton on Monday, travel to Winona on Tuesday and Central Holmes on Friday as they end action before the Christmas break. They will return from Christmas and play at the Manchester Tournament on Dec. 28 and 29.
Canton boys 64, Carroll 42
The Rebels were unable to hold off the Panthers who took a 22-point win.
Carroll led 8-7 at the end of the first before Canton outscored the Rebels 26-11 to lead 33-19 at the half. The Panthers outscored the Rebels 17-14 in the third to take a 50-33 lead.
Reese Fulton led the Rebels with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Logan Taylor and Austin Smith each had eight points apiece.
Canton girls 36, Carroll 20
The Lady Rebels struggled from the field as the Lady Panthers took a 16-point win.
Canton led 8-2 at the end of the first and 20-11 at the half. After each team scored five in the third period, Canton outscored Carroll 11-4 in the fourth to take the win.
Sandy Rhea Tackett led Carroll with 11 points while Belle Sanders had six steals and Gracie Turner added eight rebounds.
Carroll boys 59,
Tri-County 39
Carroll overcame a first-period deficit to take a 20-point lead over Tri-County.
Tri-County jumped out to a 23-19 lead at the end of the fist before Carroll used a 19-4 advantage in the second to lead 38-27 at the half. Carroll led 44-31 at the end of the third and cruised to the victory.
Reese Fulton had a huge game with 25 points and 24 rebounds while Logan Taylor had 16 points. Austin Smith added eight points.
Carroll Academy girls 49, Tri-County 35
Carroll doubled up Canton in the second period and used that advantage to take a 14-point win over Tri-County.
Carroll led 5-3 at the end of the first and then outscored Tri-County 22-11 in the second to lead 27-14 at the half. Carroll outscored Tri-County 8-7 in the third and each team scored 14 points in the fourth to take the win.
Sandy Rhea Tackett had 16 points, six rebounds and five steals apiece for the Lady Rebels while Gracie Turner had 12 points, five rebounds and five steals. Chloe Richardson also had eight points while Lanie Claire Dunn ha five rebounds.
Manchester boys 52,
Carroll 51
The Mavericks led the majority of the way and took a one-point win over the Rebels.
Manchester led 14-9 at the end of the first and 24-16 at the half. The Mavericks outscored the Rebels 16-10 in the third to take a 40-26 lead into the fourth. The Rebels outscored the Mavericks 25-12 in the fourth but weren’t able to complete the comeback.
Reese Fulton led Carroll with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Austin Smith had 16 points. Logan Taylor also added 12 points.
Manchester girls 57,
Carroll 44
The Lady Rebels fell behind early and were unable to come back against the Lady Mavericks.
Manchester led 21-11 at the end of the first and 25-18 at the half. The Lady Mavericks outscored the Lady Rebels 18-6 in the third to lead 42-24 going into the fourth. Carroll outscored Manchester 20-14 in the fourth for the final margin.
Sandy Rhea Tackett had a double-double to lead the Lady Rebels with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Gracie Turner had nine points while Lanie Claire Dunn had five points. Belle Sanders also had seven points.
