Stars take win over Carroll

Winona Christian only got in one game against rival Carroll last week but made it count.

The Stars got a no-hitter from Blake Marlow to beat the Rebels 12-1 on Tuesday. Winona lost a Monday game to Pillow Academy, falling 5-2 to the Mustangs.

Lady Jags pick up forfeit victory

The J.Z. George girls fast-pitch softball team did not get to hit the field last week but did pick up a forfeit win over Ruleville Central on April 1.

The Lady Jags are 7-9 overall and 4-3 in Region 3-3A with only one district game remaining Thursday at home against Ruleville.

WHS hosting track meet

PEARL – Winona track teams tuned up for the Division 3-3A meet by competing against some of the state's top programs at the Pearl Track & Field Invitational.

“We’re about where we need to be in all events,” said Coach Chris McRae.

Winona received strong performances from Tyra Weathersby, Krystle Hughes and Ahmad Robinson.
