An Ohio man will spend 15 years with the Mississippi Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to the lesser crime of robbery, and his accomplice will spend five years on supervised probation for her role in the hold up of Pilot Truck Stop back in June.
Judge Loper sentenced Sammy Alexander Bolen, 37, to 15 years and ordered him to pay back a $500 fine. Originally Bolen pleaded not guilty to armed robbery but changed his plea Tuesday to guilty, to the lesser sentence of robbery.
Back in June, Bolen and Melinda Moore went to the Pilot Truck Stop where Bolen went inside with a pretend handgun and demanded money. Ryan Berry said Bolen got away with $950.
Moore pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact and Loper sentenced her to five years suspended, five years of supervised probation. Moore asked if her probation could be transferred to Ohio, where she’s from. Loper told her that it could be arranged.
Also, Neal Marlow, attorney for Andre Redmond, requested Judge Loper grant a bond reduction for his client. Redmond is charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault in connection with the December robbery at Winona Dry Cleaning. The state had no objection and the motion was granted and the original $200,000 bond was reduced to $75,000.

• Corneilus Caldwell pleaded guilty to felony malicious mischief and felony driving under the influence. In May of 2017, Caldwell busted the windows out of a 2011 Dodge Charger and a 2017 Ford Explorer both belonging to the Winona Police Department. Loper sentenced him to five years for the felony mischief charge and five years for the DUI charge both to run consecutively.
• James Clark was arraigned on an uttering forgery charge. Clark will go before Judge Loper on Nov. 19 in Carroll County. His bond was set at $7,500.
