A Benton County man died after he sustained injuries from an ATV accident Saturday night just west of Duck Hill.
Montgomery County Coroner Alan Pratt said Jesse David Williams, 32, of Hickory Flat was pronounced dead by Grenada Coroner Eddie Robinson Jr. at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada after being transported there from Piney Hills and Hollows ATV Park.
Pratt said Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department and MedStat responded to the call about an ATV roll-over around 7:23 p.m. He said Williams was a passenger in the incident.
Montgomery County Sheriff Bubba Nix said the four-wheeler was driven by William’s wife, who wasn’t injured in the incident. He said the cause of William’s death is still under investigation. He said the two were just out riding the track when it happened. It’s unknown as to what caused the ATV to flip.
Nix said when the accident happened, the ATV rolled over onto of Williams, and witnesses helped to get the four wheeler off of him.
“These accidents can happen, you just have to be careful,” Nix said.
