The Winona Ministerial Alliance (WMA) will have its annual community Thanksgiving service on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. This year’s host church will be Moore Memorial United Methodist Church. The service will be held in the sanctuary and the meal will be in the Family Life Center.
Rev. Linda Malone, co-chairman of the WMA and pastor of Bethlehem United Methodist and Kilmichael United Methodist Churches said the event, which has been held since 2013, rotates from church to church. She said there will be a love offering collected, and the money will be used to in the communities. This collection is how we serve our worship services and community events.
"We provide worship services such as the National Prayer Day at Christ's Cross at the Crossroads and an Easter service. We held our first 9/11 First Responder Luncheon this year and will continue to work closely with the people who serve in law enforcement, the fire department and MedStat.”
“We also support community events such as the Back to School Giveaway, the Harvest Festival, and the Christmas party at Winona Manor,” Malone said.
Malone said the Ministerial Alliance meets monthly at Pizza Inn at 6 p.m. All pastors in our area are invited to be a part of this group.
“We support each other through collaboration and prayer,” Malone said. “We discuss community issues and how to promote unity among our people.”
