Thursday, the Carroll County School District went before the Commission on School Accreditation where the district will learn if it will keep its accreditation or be placed on probation.
The meeting will take place at 10 a.m. at the Central High School Building in Jackson on the fourth floor and will be live streamed. The meeting can be viewed on YouTube at MS Board of Education Live Stream.
After the meeting, the district will have 30 days to appeal the decision of the Commission on School Accreditation.
On Aug. 27, the Mississippi Department of Education’s Office of Accreditation had two letters hand-delivered to Superintendent Billy Joe Ferguson and Carroll County School District Board President Kenneth DeLoach.
The 31-page audit outlined several things the district either has to fix immediately or has until November 2019 or December 2019 to fix to be in compliance.
For those who were able to attend, the meeting was open to the public.
