The Town of Carrollton has been selected as one of four towns in Mississippi that will be featured on a podcast.
According to smalltownpodcast.com, the podcast was started by Ocilla, Ga. Mayor Matt Seale. During the podcast, Seale “talks to other small-town officials, discussing their stories and the stories of their small towns. Through these candid conversations, we hear about the joys and struggles of small-town living. And of course, we hear about the hilarious things that only happen in a small town.”
Lee said the podcast will be recorded Monday, and she unsure of when it will debut on the website. She said her goal is to tell people a little about Carrollton, hoping that some will want to come to visit the quaint town.
Mayor Pam Lee said she learned of the podcast while attending the Mississippi Municipal League conference. She said towns had to submit a video with a little narrative about the town.
“We submitted it back in January,” she said. Lee said when she learned that Carrollton had been selected, she was excited, but she was a little nervous.
“I always want to present Carrollton in a positive light,” she said. “I’ve listened to some of his podcasts, and we are the second state that he has branched out to,” Lee said. “I hope someone else listens to it and will want to come to visit. We have a lot to offer. We’re small, but we have organizations that are active and work to make a difference in the county. Carrollton is a good place to live.”
