Winona dropped baseball games to Eupora and Calhoun City last week. The Tigers will conclude the season Thursday with a game at Calhoun Academy.
Junior Brett May was pretty much the whole story for Eupora in the Eagles 5-0 win over Winona. He pitched a three hitter with 13 strikeouts and was three for three with a homer, two singles and two RBIs.
For Winona, Devandre Bays had a double and Hogan Ware and J.J. Looney each singled.
Winona and Calhoun City were tied 1-1 through four innings, but the Wildcats scored two runs in the fifth, three in the sixth and eight in the seventh for a 14-1 win. Nick Murphy went two for two with a single and double, and he drove in the Tigers' lone run.
Mitch Stewart is Winona's leading batter with a .414 average through the first 10 games, followed by Murphy at .333.
