The Mississippi Department of Health reported Sunday that a second person has died from COVID-19. It’s the first death reported at a long-term health facility as Carroll County continues to see a spike in cases.
Sunday’s numbers show Carroll County now has 62 cases of coronavirus, which jumped from 58 Friday, with four new cases.
Twenty-three of those testing positive are black, 14 are whites, and 25 cases are currently under investigation.
The MSDH reported there are three cases at a long-term health facility. Two of those patients testing positive are whites, and the patient succumbing to the illness was black.
