Tanker fire closes I-55 north of Vaiden

Carroll County authorities were notified on Monday, Oct. 27, at 2:48 p.m. that a tanker truck hauling herbicide caught on fire north of Vaiden at mile marker 174 resulting in the northbound lane being closed until roughly 5 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Shackael Jefcoat of Greenwood were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Hal Clark and Rev. Jerry Jones officiated the services. Burial followed in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery near Kilmichael.
