Dunn wins District 5 School Board seat

Nora D. Dunn has won the District 5 School Board seat in Winona Montgomery School District, Nov. 4, special general election, according to unofficial results.

Dunn received 283 votes compared to Chris Branch's 64 votes in the race for School Board Member District 5. A total of 347 votes were cast in the contest.

We are Winona event set for this Saturday

The First Annual We are Winona event will take place this Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Montgomery County Coliseum, located at 200 Recreation Park Drive in Winona.

The community event will feature a kids zone, vendors, a softball tournament, live entertainment, a car and motorcycle show, and a BBQ contest.

Work underway on two Carroll County bridges

Crews are working on two sites on County Road 31 in Beat 4 in Carroll County.

M & N Excavators got the bid to do the work according to Beat 4 Supervisor Claude Fluker.

The project total for the two new bridges is $1,348,725.
