This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and Nurse Appreciation week and more than likely every single one of us knows a teacher or nurse or has one of them in our families.
When I think about these two careers, what comes to mind is it is not for the weak, but very few jobs are more rewarding. Now we should be thankful for the people who do these jobs all the time, but during this week I challenge each of you to think about the teachers or nurses that have touched your life and give them some appreciation.
One of my favorite verses is Galatians 6:9, “Don’t become weary of doing good, for at the proper time you will reap a harvest.”
Sometimes serving, trying to do what’s best for others and the people that we serve can be difficult, but I know the truth of this verse first hand, and the reward is so great. Teachers and Nurses think of others all day, they carry other burdens, are confidante, and a lot of times are best friends to their students and patients.
So, this week, take some time to give these folks their flowers and let them know how much they appreciate all the good that they do. Remember Ms. Faulk loves you, but Jesus loves you more.
