Moore Memorial United Methodist Church’s Embrace Grace, a ministry that helps women who may have children out of wedlock, is seeking to expand.
Kellye James said she and Lexie Flowers are now looking into starting Embrace Life, the second part of the ministry that expands on the teachings learned in Embrace Grace, which provides a single mother with the knowledge to navigate life and train her child in the way that he or she should go in the Lord.
The group recently held a baby shower for their “Bloom.”
“Right now, we’re taking the summer off, then we’ll get back started in the fall,” James said.
She said they’re looking for people who want to be leaders, as well churches to help volunteer and hold the sessions.
“We’re praying that a church will join us and take on a whole group,” she said.
James said she’s been contacted but they are one of the few churches in the area that have the program. She said the feedback received has been great.
James said they’re hoping they can began Embrace Life in the fall, and organize it so the two programs can overlap and they can roll their “blooms” into the new program. The Embrace Life program encompasses 22 months or two semesters.
