The Town of Kilmichael held a recessed meeting Tuesday night to discuss and approve its budget.
The town of Kilmichael is not seeking a millage increase. In the general fund, Kilmichael projects $416,000. Other funds within the $416,000 are: $58,000 in general government, $126,000 in police department, $10,000 in fire department, $130,000 in street department, $8,000 in the mayor’s department, $23,000 for municipal clerk and $20,000 for the library. The budget shows a balance of over $36,000, after expenses totaling in $379,000 has been deducted from the $416,000.
In the enterprise fund, which is the natural gas, sewer and water fund, the budget projected $171,000 for natural gas, $86,000 for sewer showing an overage of $4,000 after deducting the $86,000 from the $91,000 in sewer sales. In the water department, the budget projected $168,000 and an overage of $3,300 after deducting the $168,000 from $172,000 in water sales.
Kilmichael’s budget also included raises for employees and an increase to the town’s oil and gas line item for town vehicles.
