The Winona High School girls soccer team went 2-0 in games played last week in improving to 4-1 overall this season.
The Lady Tigers defeated Yazoo County 4-2 last Thursday as four players scored a goal each. Sofia Guzman, Bella Durham, Lilly Chandler and Anna Beth Walton scored, and Guzman, Chandler and Amarria Tidwell had one assist apiece.
The Lady Tigers also took down Kemper County 8-1 on Dec. 11. Chandler led the way with three goals scored, and Durham and Mary Beth Brannon scored two each. Walton scored one goal and had one assist. Brannon also had two assists.
The Winona boys also played both opponents. Against Yazoo County, the Tigers (0-5) dropped a 2-1 decision as Connor Helms scored the lone goal.
Against Kemper County, Winona fell 3-1 as T.J. Small scored the lone goal.
Winona, which hosted Philadelphia High School Tuesday, entertains Mississippi School for Math and Science on Jan. 9.
