After finishing last year by hoisting the Class AA state championship trophy, Winona Christian baseball coach Shannon Self never envisioned the way his Stars would finish this rain-plagued season.
With star pitcher Austin Huggins on the mound, Manchester scored 10 unearned runs and took a 15-10 win in Game 1 of the series and then finished off the sweep with an 8-1 win in Game 2 of the series.
Winona finishes the season with an 8-7 record. Manchester improves to 16-5 with the win and advances to take on Tri-County Academy in the Class AA semifinals.
