Carroll Academy football coach Bo Milton is winding down the school year. But before the Rebels dismiss for the summer, Milton is installing a new offense for the Rebels.
But more than formations and plays, Milton said he is working on fundamentals.
“We are just getting back to fundamentals,” Milton said. “We are working a lot of blocking and tackling, doing the little things right. We are working on those little things you have to be disciplined to do to be a good football team. We are just trying to focus on those little things it takes to win football games.
Milton said the Rebels were working on the I-formation.
“We are trying to be more of a downhill football team,” Milton said. “We’ve been working on that a lot. I think that will fit the kids we have.”
Milton said the Rebels have 28 players out for spring drills.
“That’s a very good number for us,” Milton said. “Any time we are above 25, I feel like we have very good numbers. It’s gone very well so far.”
Milton said the Rebels practiced three times in shorts and shoulder pads last week and will practice four time this week and hopefully four times next week. Milton said he currently does not have a spring game scheduled but is hoping to find an opponent for the Rebels to scrimmage.
